Who is rosie larsen

Terry I had suspected, off and on, since the second episode of season one when she was on the kitchen floor of the Larsen home, ostensibly cleaning up the mess left behind by cops executing a search warrant. Two things were wrong with that picture - the cops had a warrant only to search Rosie's bedroom, so why would there be a mess on the kitchen floor? And why would Terry, something of a regular presence around the Larsen home, choose to hang around during the room toss? Reeling with grief, Stan and Mitch Larsen had wisely taken themselves and Rosie's younger brothers to the park to fly a kite, so they would not have to witness any upsetting discoveries.

Did Terry remain on the scene out of guilt? As more of her unsavory backstory came to light - she was an escort with a service called Beau Soleil, she was planning to run off with a married man, she rarely concealed how envious she was of Mitch's family life - the hugely flawed Terry became a very plausible suspect.

Consider how frightened she appeared when detectives Holder and Linden stopped her for questioning when she was taking her nephews to school. And her rage when Tommy locked Denny in the trunk of the car OK, that was a pretty creepy thing to do given how Big Sis died.

But Terry's extreme response to his acting out, we know now, stemmed from guilt rather than disapproval. For me, the most telling moments in the case against Terry were the two chilling interactions between her and her married lover, developer Michael Ames.

At Rosie's wake, he ignored Terry though she was obviously delighted to see him. In season two, during the terse conversation in the black limo, he ordered her with frosty finality not to contact him again. His attitude during both contacts exuded far more disgust than a love affair dial-down, however one-sided, would have warranted. It didn't all point to Terry. This mystery had enough suspects to populate an Agatha Christie drawing room.

Michael Ames. Darren Richmond. Bennet Ahmad, Rosie's teacher. Janek Kovarsky, the mob boss. Alexi, Rosie's tatted-up admirer. Jasper Ames, Rosie's ex-boyfriend and Michael's son. Stirling, Rosie's whiny best friend. The fact that Rosie Larsen was still alive when she was locked in the trunk of a car that was subsequently dumped into a lake inevitably triggers the memories of Sarah Linden as she contemplates the fear that inevitably arose within the teenage girl during her final moments.

Everyone eventually abandons Linden as she slowly becomes consumed with the death of Rosie Larsen, leaving Stephen Holder as the only one still willing to stand beside her. Although the falsifying of evidence causes distrust in her mind, Sarah Linden likewise emerges as the only one willing to stand beside Holder.

The true story of The Killing is thus the growing bond between these two damaged individuals as they alone attempt to find the truth in regards to the murder and its corresponding conspiracy, no matter the cost. For both Linden and Holder, redemption can only be found by solving the mystery. I was in the third grade when the accident at the plant happened. I watched him lose everything. His wife, house. His job. He was dying, right there in front of me, until he started to fight back. He fought like the son of a bitch he was, and he got it all back.

With few exceptions, network police dramas follow the forensics of crime solving and place the emphasis on the investigation and resolution of its weekly narratives. AMC and The Killing takes a different approach by regulating its initial mystery to the backburner over the course of 26 episodes.

Jamie Wright may have been talking about his grandfather in the above quote, but it also serves as the thread that holds The Killing narrative together. Geek Frontiers. Jamie confronted Rosie after he discovered she had witnessed the event and hit her over the head, placed her in his car and drove her into the woods. She was able to get away from Jamie, but after catching up with her he beat her and placed her in the trunk of his car. Jamie then called Michael Ames who arrived in the woods that night with Terry, who he had been having an affair with.

Jamie is overheard saying he tried to kill her but couldn't and asks Michael for help. Terry ultimately gets into Jamie's car and drives it into the lake, not knowing the girl was her niece Rosie.
